Your formats. Scramble, skins, flighted net, whatever you run. You rebuild these once on the new tool, and then they are saved. The night-before format wrestling is a one-time cost, not a recurring one.
That is the whole migration. Courses, players, formats. An afternoon, not a season.
Why mid-season beats waiting for renewal
The instinct is to wait until the contract is up so you do not "waste" what you paid for. That is the sunk cost talking, and it costs you the entire rest of the season on a tool you have already decided to leave.
Mid-season switching has a real advantage: you can run one event on the new platform while the old one is still active as a safety net. No bridge burned. You set up your next scramble on the new tool, run it, and judge it against the real thing instead of a demo. If it is better, you have your answer with zero risk. If it is not, you finished your old contract anyway.

A clean four-step switch
- Pick the next event, not the whole calendar. Choose one upcoming tournament as the test.
- Import the three things. Course, roster, format. Most of this is automatic or a single upload.
- Run it live, in parallel. Keep the old tool as backup if you want. You will not need it.
- Judge it on player reaction. Did the leaderboard come alive? Did the volunteer need less help? Did players ask what app this was? That is your renewal decision, made on evidence.
