Player asks
“My ball ended up on a cart path. Do I have to play it?”
Caddie
No. A cart path is an immovable obstruction. Take free relief at the nearest point of complete relief, not nearer the hole, then drop within one club-length of that point.
Rule 16.1b
Player asks
“I thought I lost my ball but found it after four minutes. Can I play it?”
Caddie
No. The three-minute search clock starts when you begin looking. Once three minutes pass the ball is lost, even if you find it. Stroke and distance, go back and re-tee.
Rule 18.2
Player asks
“There's a pine cone behind my ball in the bunker. Can I move it?”
Caddie
Yes. As of 2019 you can remove loose impediments in a bunker without penalty, as long as you don't cause your ball to move. You still can't ground your club.
Rule 12.2a
Player asks
“My partner's ball hit mine on the green. What happens?”
Caddie
In stroke play, the player who hit the putt gets a two-stroke penalty. The ball that was struck goes back to its original spot. In match play, no penalty, but the struck ball is replaced.
